3D TV Revolution
By
George Furneaux
Recently a team of researchers have succeeded in developing a completely new version of 3D image in the digital
age. The basic principle remains the same: shoot something from two different angles and then combines the two
images so as to create a sense of depth. The resultant picture when viewed with appropriate glasses produces a
3D image.
Over the last year at your local cinema, maybe you experienced 3D movies. Now all these action movies can be at
home thanks to the new 3D television. The movies of old used a red green colour separation glasses to create a
3D image. The latest movies seem to all be in 3D and is a phenomenon spreading to your home TV set. People say
3D TV is the biggest revolution to TV, since the appearance of colour screens.
Watching the 3D TV is easy, your attention will be focused on special effects and vivid coloured images jumping
off the screen. After you see a movie in 3D, you realize the potential success of the new home entertainment of
3D TV. These images are also being applied to computer games and soon cable TV. The experience combined with
surround sound, and a good home entertainment system give a in the picture feeling and sensation.
In The Sky TV headquarters, located in West London, researchers have purchased old documentary films not
originally made for 3D. Researchers film each spot image from a scene on a special screen box by using a
camcorder equipped with two lenses, handled by a single cameraman. The new "stereo" cameras much heavier than
the old provide the 3D effect, like rain hitting the lens. The result is old documentaries filmed in the wild
can be re-released in 3D format providing new experiences with old content.
Without special glasses, the viewer running a 3D screen can only see a dim image. Once the glasses are placed
on the nose, the viewer has an unsettling sense of depth. As you look at the movie the characters suddenly
become real. The glasses are set up so each lens has a phased picture slightly offset from the other. The
picture visualized through the glasses provides the 3D effect and provides the out of TV experience most people
find quite fascinating.
The 3D TV experience will be new for at home movie enthusiasts. The 3D cinema quality on the new TV sets
provide great family entertainment. The crossover to games and even cable TV will keep producers busy inventing
new ways to stimulate viewers in another dimension, not presently available on home TV.
The convenience of watching 3D movies at home has been made easier and more enjoyable with new systems
duplicating the experience of the cinematic big screen. If you enjoy your movies, the 3D experience is just
another level you can enjoy. So many aspects of 3D, allow not only movies, but games and even TV shows to be
more enjoyable. My name is George Furneaux and have created a web site to review your future 3D experience. If
family entertainment for the home is in your interests then follow my site at

Toshiba 55WX800U 55 Inch 3D TV
By
Derek Armson
I felt sure 3D TV prices would fall in 2011. The pressure from the still poor economic situation and the need
to shift some home electronics made it almost certain. Having said that I was really surprised to see the
Toshiba 55WX800U 55 Inch 3D TV come in at just $1,599 (at the time of writing - late January 2011).
We're talking a full 1080p HD TV with a 240HZ refresh rate - top of the range tech until very recently. I have
to say, as a consumer, it's great to see this! And as a spin off it will "encourage" others to follow suit
which is brilliant. You never know even Sony and Samsung might discount a bit! Of course another contributing
factor could be the arrival of 480Hz TVs as well.
So, I had to have a look - and I was impressed.
For the price the performance is right up there, and that pleased me as I didn't really think it was possible
to offer top end performance at this sort of price.
So, what about the picture? Comparable to any full LED TV is the answer. That means brilliant colors, crystal
clear images and stunning movement. It's true they all have their own LED picture technology with Toshiba
boasting "PixelPure5" is the best picture technology. It is a brilliant picture and the 7 million:1 contrast
helps screen definition.
Having watched the TV in action I was surprised to find out that there was the odd negative review and press
comment. This concerned alleged image clouding and crosstalk (blurring of the 3D image). I did not witness
anything of this nature. All 3D sets have some degree of crosstalk and it was a bigger issue on early 3D sets,
but it is now pretty much cured, and this set is no different...it was fine.
And, at last... integral wi-fi as standard! Not before time is what I say! I find it incredible that, in this
day and age you have to buy an additional receiver to get wi-fi internet access on your TV. I know LG had
started to include it but now Toshiba have joined in surely the rest must now follow?
Another "bug-bear" of mine with new generation HD TV has been the complex nature of set up. It has certainly
got a lot easier over the past year or so, but this one is an absolute breeze.
Set up was an absolute breeze, all the way through. In fact, the set simply recognised it all! It was a real
breathe of fresh air compared to some set ups I've done. You need an IQ of 217 to do some of these set ups.
Remember us consumers are simple souls, so massive plaudits for Toshiba on this aspect. Menus were also very
easy to navigate, widget set up easy and picture tweaking simple as well.
The sales brochure does suggest new speaker technology and better sound, but, in truth, it's marginal at best.
Don't get me wrong it's absolutely fine for normal watching, but if you want a better experience then you'll
need a surround system and speakers. However, in truth you need that with any HD set, so it's no
different.
And, surround systems are so cheap these days you might as well!
So, to sum up I believe the Toshiba 55WX800U is a really good buy, especially when you look at the level of
performance the TV gives you. If you're mulling over the idea of going 3D then I recommend you have a look at
this one. It is comparable with more expensive TVs from other manufacturers and offers an excellent entry point
to 3D.
Especially given picture quality you get with normal 2D pictures as well, it's impressive.
Definitely good value and highly recommended as an excellent entry point for 3D.

The New Samsung PS50C7000 3D TV
By
Milo Bouer
3D televisions are going to be the big buzz technology for 2010 and by 2012 a survey has reported that over 25%
of televisions sold will be 3D televisions.
Samsung are one manufacturer who are taking 3D televisions very seriously and are releasing 3D televisions over
a range of of different television ranges like lcd, plasma and led. It is the plasma range that we will be
looking at and the PS50C7000 Samsung model which is a fantastic 50" 3D plasma screen beauty.
The Samsung PS50C7000 really is the ultimate home cinema television and all around home entertainment plasma
package. This television was built for those that really do enjoy their movies and want as close a cinema
experience at home as possible thanks to it's great features like 3D, Cinema Smooth 24p processing, and SRS
TruSurround HD.
This Samsung 3D television really does offer the ultimate immersive viewing experience by liberating
content
from the flat confines of the TV and turning it into explosive 3D imagery that can make you feel part of that
world, the effect on the PS50C7000 3D really is breathtaking, you really do get a picture quality that rivals
the cinema thats imported into your own living room.
Now one of the problems that 3D has at the moment is that their is not a lot of content available in 3D to
watch on your PS50C7000 television until services like the new Sky 3D channel is available in a few months, but
Samsung has found a fantastic solution to this problem in that you can convert your favourite 2D movies to 3D,
yes that's right you can now watch any of your standard 2D Blu Ray movies in 3D. Of course the 3D is nowhere
near as good as a true 3D movie like Disney's Christmas Carol but it is perfectly acceptable and really does

Best 3D Movies on DVD to Play on Your Blu Ray 3D DVD Player
By
Noel K. Swinton
The coming 3D revolution will have to rely heavily on other factors than just 3D capable TV, such as
transcoding the best 3D movies on DVD and of cause a Blu Ray 3D DVD player to play them on, if it is to
maintain enough momentum to see it through the initial launch stages.
Though all the signs are good and the market research points to consumers having the appetite for 3D in the
home, it is going to take more than a big flashy launch and some PR men telling us that this is what we need to
turn this technology mainstream. What people want is content, not particularly any old animated movie getting
the 3D works on it but the biggest movies, action movies, drama and period productions giving consumers the
best 3D movies on DVD.
All the noise has been coming from the consumer electronics companies, talk of how great their products are,
what they can deliver and when they will hit the stores but for me the big producers need to get a bit more
vocal and start telling us what we are going to be able to watch on our 72 inch monster 3D enabled TV. Disney
have promised a 3D version of the classic A Christmas Carol and Samsung and Dreamworks have struck a deal to
replicate some content in 3D with Technicolor.
A big factor has to be if these companies can get even close to the 3D cinema experience movie goers are
getting at present from the likes of Bolt an animated movie shot in 3D, Up and Avatar. A good pointer and
perhaps a sign of things to come are those movies in the pipeline. Toy Story 3 and Shrek goes Forth are
penciled in to be shot in three dimension and older films getting the 3D magic are Tim Burton's The Nightmare
Before Christmas and also Chicken Little.
These films will not be on their own as I expect more and more directors would love to join James Cameron and
jump aboard as and when Hollywood commits fully to the technology. When it does you can be sure the full cinema
experience will be available at home.
Other new releases that are being shot in 3D and expected for a 2010 release are Beauty and the Beast,
Oobermind, Despicable Me, Tron 2 and Hubble 3D, all of which will eventually make it onto DVD. But will these
make you run out and buy the latest Blu Ray DVD player after all they will be the best 3D movies on DVD
available.

Growth Of The 3D TV Market In 2011
By
Ackerman Adams
It has been a mammoth technological jump from the black and white TVs of yesteryear to the present day 3D TV.
Technology has progressed at breakneck speed and as we get used to one innovative product, another much better
one catches our attention. It seems that it was only a few months ago that HD TVs were the latest craze but
they have suddenly been overtaken by 3D TVs.
People have always been fascinated by 3D movies that could be seen in special multiplexes but the latest
development means that it is possible to view 3D movies in our homes through 3D TVs. This development also has
far reaching applications in the fields of gaming, mobile phones and computing.
What is 3D TV?
A 3D TV brings the experience of watching 3D cinema inside our homes. This technology ensures more realistic
viewing of movies and other programs because the broadcast and display is in a three dimensional mode instead
of the normal two dimensional system. Essentially, it is mandatory to wear special 3D TV glasses which help the
viewer assimilate the three dimensional image and convert them into one image in order to get the real three
dimensional effect.
Growth of 3D TV in 2011
Hectic research is being carried out by all major manufacturers of 3D TVs. One of the areas of research is the
use of 3D TV glasses for viewing. In 2010, each manufacturer came out with brand specific glasses that could be
used only with their brand and not with other brands. The first innovation seen now is universal glasses which
can be used for all types of 3D TVs. Manufactures are also studying the possibility of eliminating the need for
glasses for viewing three-dimensional television. Small screen models of Toshiba 3D TV which can be viewed
without glasses have already made their presence felt in Japan and other manufacturers are likely to follow
suit shortly.
There has been considerable growth in mobile technology and the release of Nintendo 3DS is already creating
ripples in the 3D entertainment market. The focus this year is however on mobile 3D TVs and leading TV
manufacturers like LG have already started displaying their new prototypes. Experts feel that small screen
technology can give good quality 3D viewing experience and that too at an affordable price. It seems that
mobile 3D TVs will be the money spinners in the days to come.
3D technology is being harnessed in different areas like 3D games and 3D conversion. The future of home
entertainment is indeed very bright and it is predicted that by the beginning of 2015, sales value could touch
$100 billion.
Since the beginning of 2011, the focus has been on providing better content to 3D TV programs. With increase in
sales of 3D Blu Ray players, it is expected that people will start using 3D TVs more often particularly to
enjoy movies on 3D DVDs. 3D gaming is set to witness a massive increase in usage especially with the increased
availability of Sony PS3 3D games and Nintendo 3DS. Even Microsoft has joined the bandwagon and is likely to
release their first Xbox 3D games shortly.
Watching 3D TV has become a pleasurable experience with extra content coming in from new 3D TV Review networks.
In order to find out more about the latest developments and the latest offerings from different TV
manufacturers, you need to check out various websites that provide such information.
3D TV
seems to have captured the imagination of everyone because it presents a scene in all its natural flavors, in
three dimensions. There are dedicated websites which provide all information regarding the latest developments
in the
3D
world.

3D TV Guide
By
Julian Dalton
If you are looking for the latest generation in LCD TV's you might be interested in the newest 3D TV's. Someday
you might be able to watch your 3D TV the way you watch your TV now, but for now, you will need to also wear
special glasses to view the 3D effects.
Animated 3D movies have been around for a while now because they are the easiest to make, but the technology to
bring 3D into your home is still recent. If you are concerned about the shows you enjoy watching now, do not
be. A 3D television will still allow you to watch all of your favorite 2D programming.
If you enjoy watching 3D in the theater, you will be more than happy to bring it home. Throughout 2010 there
will be more LCD TVs released that will be ready for 3D viewing. Buying now will enable you to be ready when 3D
entertainment has become a way of life. Eventually, everything from Blu-Ray players to gaming consoles will be
available in 3D.
To watch 3D TV at home, you should plan to purchase a 3D ready television and active shutter glasses. Keep in
mind that not all of the new televisions will include these special glasses; you may need to purchase them
separately so be sure to ask the salesperson. New developments are being made all the time so if you are
concerned, as some are, because you already wear glasses, there may a solution for you soon.
Ultimately, this 3D technology will be available on every make, model and size television you might want. You
will be able to buy a 65 inch LED flat screen or one of the many other LCD TV's and enjoy a 1080p resolution,
all in 3D, when these services are available as part of the cable or satellite programming. Right now these
televisions are pricey, but as they become more popular their prices will come down making these TV's more
affordable for everyone.
If you are interested in 3D television but do not know where to start, you will be interested in knowing that
some makers have been introducing starter kits that include a HD Blu-Ray Player, a 3D movie and active glasses
with the purchase qualifying 3D televisions. Television makers have been hoping to grab hold of the consumer's
interest in a whole package deal that has an attractive price tag.
Right now, 3D television is not selling at the rate that was predicted. This is likely due to the current slump
in the economy. Most 3D televisions are Internet ready so you can enjoy streaming movies and more directly to
your television.
This has been an exciting time for 3D TV's. During the next ten years, there will be more programs available
and more televisions that will be 3D. Prices will come down so that more people will be able to afford 3D
performances at home. Rumor has it that it will be without the need for shutter glasses.

3D Televisions - LG 50PX950 Review
By
George S Henry
The LG 50PX950 is an amazing television, with colors and contrast like never seen before. It is the world's
first 3D Television to earn THX Certification. In order to achieve this it had to pass more than 30 very
rigorous tests. The LG 50PX950 provides you with an exceptional quality of picture bringing you the ultimate
viewing experience.
LG Infinia 50PX950 Review - Our Opinion
We checked out the LG Infinia 50PX950 review comments and found them all to be really great ratings. There were
14 comments, and all except one were at the maximum 5* rating, the other being very close behind as a 4*
rating.
The overwhelming positives for this TV is the picture quality, not just the picture but the detail, color and
contrast. Many comments such as Best TV for your Bucks, Superior, Great Deal, Excellent, and Absolutely
Amazing, actually Amazing is one of the most common adjectives used to describe this Amazing TV! The four star
was simply for a Netcast issue and nothing to do with the overall quality of this TV.
LG 50PX950 Review Of Features:
You will be instantly amazed and impressed by the astonishing effects and detail taking your in-home
entertainment to the next level. The jaw dropping design is only the beginning, there is much more to this
TV.
You can enjoy almost unlimited entertainment when you get connected to the internet. Netcast Entertainment
Access will open up lots more choice for you beyond your regular TV viewing. So direct to your TV and with no
computer needed, you could access Netflix and get TV shows and movies, view the most recent Hollywood releases
via Roxio CinemaNow, access Vudu and enjoy the largest library of HD movies in the world, sport, weather and
news updates too, so no worries of not having anything to tune into with all of this to choose from!
You can avoid the cable spaghetti too if you choose the Wireless Connectivity, this will allow you to connect
but without having to bear the cables.
LG's innovative TruBlack Filter is the New Black! The corner lamp will not affect your picture viewing because
the TruBlack filter will help to minimize glare and boost the image quality you see on the screen, giving a
much improved contrast and picture quality ratio. If you are a sporting enthusiast or enjoy your gaming then
you will be impressed by the 600Hz refresh rate because it virtually eliminates motion blur.
The conversion from 2D to 3D feature provides you with a 3D effect on your 2D viewing of TV, sports, movies,
games and images, just simply by pushing a button.
If you are looking to buy 3D TV, you will no doubt compare 3D televisions, consider the good and bad of the

3D Televisions - The Sony KDL55NX810 Review
By
George S Henry
The Sony KDL55NX810 is a beautiful slim designed TV offering a premium picture quality. The superb contrast
with clear and precise images is due to the LED Dynamic Edge backlighting, it enhances the whites to be
brighter and the blacks to be deeper. This feature is great for your wallet and the environment too as the Edge
LED-backlit HDTVs guzzle less power than the conventional LCD televisions, plus they do not contain any
mercury.
Our Opinion:
This 3DTV offers a great picture quality - it is beautiful, bright and sharp. Very good user interface, feels
solid and is easy to put together, 3D is excellent, and the monolithic design is superb. However, and as found
with a few of these smart hi-tech TV's the sound quality could be a bit better, but they are created to be so
sleek these days that it leaves very little space to integrate big sounds systems, although this can be simply
rectified by adding an additional supporting sound system.
3D Televisions - The Sony KDL55NX810 Features:
The Motionflow PRO 240Hz Technology provides smoother motion viewing and improved clarity. The frame rate is
increased and with the addition of Image Blur reduction, this results in a sharp quality viewing experience
especially during the fast-action scenes.
Enjoy 3D in Full HD on the Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810, immerse in the action because this TV offers a very real
feel to the gaming experience and movie viewing in Full HD 1080p. And, with the simple press of the button on
the remote control, standard 2D personal content can be converted into 3D.
There is a rapidly increasing variety of 3D viewing options becoming more readily available, this includes the
most recent Hollywood movies on Blu-ray 3D, and there is music, sport, entertainment and natural history from
the new 3D cable and satellite channels too. Please note that as with a number of this style of TV's,
additional extras may need to be added to fully enjoy all the benefits of the 3DTV viewing experience, these
include for example the Sony sync transmitter and active 3D glasses.
The Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 also provides integral Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking. This allows the opportunity to
get connected to a wide selection of video streaming websites such as Crackle or Netflix. Social network sites
such as Facebook and Twitter can also be accessed allowing users to keep in contact with friends and relatives,
and the wider world.
The OptiContrast panel gives the impression that the images on-screen are floating on top of the glass screen;
this enhances the quality and precision of the picture quality and reduces reflection and glare.
Other features on the Sony KDL55NX810 include Built-In Wi-Fi, 5 HD inputs, BRAVIA Internet Video, a USB port
for music, photo, and video playback through the TV, BRAVIA Internet Widgets, BRAVIA Engine 3, an Ethernet
port, LightSensor Technology, 24p True Cinema, an Energy Saving Switch and wall mounts which are VESA
compliant.
There are a number of 3D Televisions available these days, and many offer very similar features. However the
technological advances will continue, it is a highly competitive industry, but still the detail and quality
already established on these TV's such as the Sony KDL55NX810 is superb, it will be fascinating to witness what
else will develop over the coming years.

Ready to Experience a 3D TV From Samsung? A Detailed Review of the Samsung 3D TV
By

When it comes to choosing a high end 3D television, choosing a Samsung 3D tv is a great choice. Samsung offers
3 main types of 3D TVs, that's LCD, LED, and plasma which all have their own unique benefits and features. In
this article I'll discuss the benefits of each type of Samsung 3D TV to make your decision easier and more
knowledgeable.
By far the most popular type of TV these days is the LCD, liquid crystal display. Samsung's LCD 3D TVs are of
great quality in many ways. These TVs from this brand name manufacturer can be easily switch between being used
as a computer screen to a TV in no time. You should also expect a Samsung LCD TV to have a great lifespan, up
to 60,000 hours, which is equal to 8 hours per day for 20 years. Samsung's LCD 3D technology allows you to view
the screen and have a TV of virtually any size from 5 inches all the way up to 65 inches.
LED 3D TVs from Samsung are a sure-fire way to be assured you get a high quality TV for your home or workplace.
LED TVs are very lightweight making them easy to move from one room to another or transport during moves or
special events where you want to keep it away from the crowd. Of all the types of 3D TVs available, Samsung's
LED televisions are the most energy efficient choice and consume less electricity than plasma.
If you want the best of the best, and want to enjoy crystal clear images, superior resolution and smooth action
scenes unlike any other TV can provide you should consider Samsung's Plasma 3D TV. Plasma TVs provide the best
image and video quality available compared to other television technologies, LED and LCD. If you're into sports
and fast paced TV or movies, you'll get the most bang for your buck going plasma. For any gamers out there,
consider Samsung's plasma 3D TV to be the best option for going 3-dimensional with video games. You won't get a
clearer, more smooth display than with Samsung's line of plasma television sets.
All in all, Samsung offers a wide range of 3D TVs to choose from. There's something for all budgets and
